I guess for most people, there will come a time when you will get a sudden flow of wedding invitations at one point of ur life. Most Asians tend to get married averagely about after 25 years old.

most updates about friends are gotten through Facebooking..many status has changed to engaged or post ups of wedding pictures. I mean, who doesn’t like to see a wedding, a reunion of 2 people deelpy in love? I ,for one, will be really happy and kay poh to know who’s getting married and so on

Hmm…i’m going to be seeing more n more of friends marrying. brace myself!

Long absence

i know i’m not the type to have a blog. I’m lazy and a big procrastinator. and anyways, who actually visit my blog and reads it? urm….erm…can’t think of one.

maybe i should just update short posts…totally no pics and all, so if you are still reading pls do give me some feedbacks. that will give me the “umph” to update more often

btw: i’m just recovering from being sick. lousy day at work but thank god, it’s friday. I’m really really G.L.A.D.!

Just another ordinary day

It’s my 24th birthday today.

But it only felt just like any other day…normal, ordinary, and routine. Sure, i had great friends who had celebrated it for me, dozens who had sent me birthday wishes…really thankful and glad for wat they did.

Maybe it’s just cause I had dy stepped in the working phase of my life, thus, birthday just meant that it’s a day that i’m reminded that i’m older…but not necessarily wiser. haha.

May God bless me with more wisdom, more strength to live this life happily for the years to come.

PURE LAZINESS

Been at home for 2 months now. Many friends said i DISSAPEARED for quite some time now….well, i wanna say one thing: I’M BACCKKKKKK …from…er, doris la-la land Dun ask me what i’ve been doing, coz I’m so occupied till i duno where the time flies to. anyways, i dun like starting things halfway, so i guess i’d better fill up the gap in between; of what i’ve been doin. Contemporary DANCE

I’m watching ‘So You Think You Can Dance – Season 3′ with my sis recently and wow, I was sucked into the world of dancing. No, I don’t dance yet…just enjoyed seeing the contestants dance. I am VERY interested in dancing and plan to take some dancing lessons myself when I can afford it. (one of my many many plans :p) Anyways, do you know that there’s soooooo many types of dance? Just ballroom dance alone has many many types! And of course, my favourite will be hip hop. Jazz dance is real cool too, especially those choreographed by the famous Wade Robson! He’s young (only older than me by 2 years!) but he can choreograph so well! Gotta admit that the most interesting feature in ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ is the choreography as the songs are mostly choreographed by world renowned choreographers.

Contemporary dance is the hardest one so far as I can tell because it’s the more emotional kind of dance where the dancers have to potray the emotions when they dance. Here’s one that really took both me and my sister’s breath away when we watched it. It’s about the complications of a relationship at the start, and how it went a full circle but ended where it began. The song, the choreography, the dancers, the dancing….AWESOME!

On Monday (19 Nov) at around dinner time, Mei-Yee (she was sitting beside me in the room) received a phone call and when she talked over the phone, she sounded anxious. Immediately I knew that something was wrong and waited for her to finish the call. I was right, Ching Ching (another roommate of mine, who’s also my best buddy for these past 3++ years) and her boyfriend were involved in a road accident. CC’s bf was fetching her back from work with the motorcycle when they were hit by a car.

We quickly changed and rushed to Kelana Jaya Medical Centre with our other guy housemates. Received another phonecall from CC again as we were leaving the hse,hurrying us there coz there seeom to be some conflict with the guys who knocked them down. When we reached KJMC, CC’s bf’s housemates had dy arrived and were dealing with the ‘car’ guys. We quickly went to check on CC, and I was thankful that she looked alright. She told us that she didn’t bleed much but her lower left leg was swollen. She was in extreme pain when she fell from the bike after being hit by the car. After the x-ray, we discovered that her fibula was broken. It seemed that 2 bones were broken at 2 different area; one at her ankle and the other at the middle of the bone.

Apparently, CC’s bf was the first bike that made a right turning after the traffic lights turned green. Unknown to him, the car from the opposite direction came n knocked them down. CC, who was the on pillion, got hit directly by the car, causing the bone fractures. The car driver claimed that his traffic lights showed green. Luckily, there was a car witness behind CC’s bike, who confirmed that her bf only droved off when the lights showed green. The car driver who hit them was actually running the red lights. After much talking, both parties decided to file police reports. I pray that all will be well later on. Because KJMC is a private hospital and the costs are high, we transferred CC to University Malaya Medical Centre. Her bf did not suffer from any serious injuries, thank God. At UMMC, CC’s right leg was put on a cast. The doc also recommended surgery because the bone fracture at the ankle needs to heal properly. All in all, I’m thankful that she was not seriously injured. Even thought it was a busy nite, I’m glad that everything was well.

CC’s accident reminded me of the goodness of the LORD, how much he loves her and how He is reminding me of his faithfulness. Looking at the bright side, I’m thankful that:

The accident happened at a time where us housemates had already finished our final exams just the week before, and we had not yet moved back to our hometowns.
The car which knocked them was making a turn while running the red lights. Therefore, the force that knocked them down was not as great if compared to cars that run red lights while driving straight. Definitely, the force will be very great as the driver will need to accelerate to make it to the other side in time. Even though the bone fractures aren’t a small matter, it could have been worse.
CC’s bf did not sustain any serious injuries other than some bruises.

CC’s parents and her brother drove down from Pekan the next day and she’s now back home recuperating. We had the orthopaedic at UMMC refer her to the hospital at Kuantan for any further checkup. Just received an update from CC that she’s going to have a surgery this coming Friday at Kuantan Medical Centre for the ankle bone. Will continue to pray for her.

Ching Ching, don’t worry…God will be with you! My prayers are with you at all times.

A new beginning

Decided to change from xanga to wordpress since a new beginning is what i’m all about currently - the end of my student life and a new beginning of the unknown. So, what am I feeling right now? Terrified and yet, excited. Terrified of leaving the life that was well laid out (high school –> form 6 –> university) but yet, excited to know that I’ve reached this time where I can work to support myself. This time when I can finally look at myself as a real adult. It’s bizarre to know that our life is just a cycle : born-study-work-die. Still, I believe in the wonders of life…how a simple lick of ice cream can clear up a cranky mood, how staying at home reading a book with a cup of coffee during a rainy day is considered the best day spent, etc. I want my life to be like that, simple and yet meaningful. Thus, I named this blog ‘Counting the Blessings’ as a reminder to myself and everyone to count our blessings at all times.
